UCF OA

The knee joint is the fulcrum of life

With the passage of time, wear and tear will gradually occur in the knee ligaments, menisci, cartilage, patella and other related tissues. According to many years of clinical research , the human knee joint has a working life span of about 60 years.

Each human has different physiques and living habits, and thus knee joints will be damaged and inflamed to different degrees and at different times during a lifetime. When knee joint damage happens and symptoms of inflammation, pain, edema, numbness and stiffness appear, it should not be ignored. The process of aging can cause degenerative diseases of bones and joints and, combined with a poor ability to repair as we get older, can lead to many people having a much poorer life style with pain and restricted mobility. Even younger and more active people are not immune to knee damage with sports and an active lifestyle causing strain injuries, synovitis and the early development of ongoing degenerative joint disease- including Osteoarthritis. No matter what the age of the patient, knee injuries are very debilitating and can affect a wide range of common activities.

These can have serious impacts on the quality of life.

At present, the 「gold standard」 for the treatment of degenerative joint disease has been, in the initial stages, rest, weight reduction and pain relief medications. As the disease progresses over time most patients will require surgery. This surgery can take a number of forms from simple 「cleaning」 the joint with arthroscopy to total knee arthroplasty (replacement). All surgical interventions are invasive and may bring various post operative complications to patients, such as prosthesis loosening, infection, venous thromboembolism (VTE). Investigation shows that the incidence of deep venous thrombosis after total knee arthroplasty and perihip fracture surgery is 43.2%. In addition, patients who have had knee arthroplasty will have a restriction of movement and lifestyle. Recovery time can be long and painful.

Source of UCF

Purecell』s unique UCF patented technology was developed in the Victorian government laboratories of MONASH Health Translational Precinct in Melbourne.

Derived from the healthy new born』s umbilical cord blood, it is a unique combination of low molecular weight soluble proteins produced by the baby』s cells It consists of a combination of the baby』s natural signaling molecules, and will activate and awaken stem cells in vivo to initiate the repair of damaged and aging cells, allowing the repair of the local tissues to which it is applied.  UCF can facilitate and accelerate the repair of knee joint damage and injury at the cell level. It is a safe, effective and convenient way to treat degenerative joint disease allowing an increase in pain free movement by the patient and a much improved and active lifestyle. Most importantly, repeat treatments of UCF can delay of even avoid surgical intervention for many patients.

UCF OA repair treatment

The patient must first have MRI examination of the joints involved and have them evaluated by Purecell doctors.  Intra articular injections of Purecell』s UCF-OA by Purecell approved doctors may alleviate the need for surgery, is minimally invasive, with a short recovery period, allowing little impact on normal life activities.

Purecell UCF-OA is the safest, most effective and convenient way to repair knee joints and is now available internationally.

Usually, most patients will require one treatment, while patients with longstanding or severely damaged knee joints may require multiple treatments. Purecell doctors will assess each patient according to their lifestyle and degree of damage and will advise accordingly.

Indications for UCF OA treatment :

   Degeneration

   Synovitis, bursitis

   Meniscus tear

   Ligament injury

   Cartilage damage

Are you a candidate for UCF OA Treatment?

   1. Athletes pursuing a sport that causes large impacts on their knees -Running, weight bearing, marathon and other sports enthusiasts.

   2. People who stand or walk in high heels for a long time.

   3. Older patients with osteoarthritis degenerative disease.

   4. Patients who have acute knee injury.

Case 1: Sports Injury

Causes: vigorous exercise habit, resulting in severe cartilage loss in the right knee.

Medical history: In 1994, the first right knee operation, less than a month after the operation, began to play football again, and did not follow the doctor's advice to do physical therapy regularly, resulting in a recurrence of the knee problem. In 2001, 2005 and 2014, repeated operation of the knee joint .The doctor recommended installing artificial knee in 2014, but Officer L was only 39 years old, if artificial knees were installed, his police career would be over and he would not be able to exercise. So he chose to wait for more suitable treatment.

Treatment plan: In 2017, He returned to Australia and learned about PURECELL scientific research team of the world's first UCF treatment, and decided to begin the UCF treatment for knee joint repair by PURECELL

Repair effect: Pain markedly reduced after 1 month .

After three months, no pain, back to normal life. Patient elected to use UCF on his other knee with similar results.

Case 2: elderly degenerative diseases

Causes: due to the long walking of the cultural revolution period , the knee joint was severely damaged, suffering from arthritis for a long time.

Medical history: Ms. Fang underwent a minimally invasive surgery for the right knee in 2002, but the surgery failed. She then relied on conservative treatment, medication, physiotherapy and other maintenance treatment.

In recent years, the pain in the right knee has increased, walking is difficult, travel needs to rely on electric wheelchairs and crutches, and sleeping pills and powerful painkillers are needed to ease the pain at night.

After MRI scan in 2017, it is confirmed by experts that knee replacement is required. Ms Fang, at 81 years old, is considered a high risk surgical patient with a long recovery period.

Treatment plan: On October 21, 2017, Dr. Ian Chinsee, PURECELL Chief Medical Officer, treated Ms Fang targeted with UCF-OA injection therapy to her right knee joint.

Repair effect: After treatment for one month, the pain disappeared, no longer required the wheelchair, and was walking normally again.

After three months, the patient could walk normally with no pain, and life returned to normal.
